Street crews were busy in Hondo Tuesday, preparing Ave. L for an overlay of HA-5 sealant atop the street’s existing chip seal pavement. The HA-5 preserves the pavement and also cuts down on dust. The city is contracting with Holbrook Asphalt Co. to coat portions of numerous streets in Hondo under the current project.

Each street repair will be a two-day process.

Do not park within 50 feet of any street being worked on.

Work will run daily from 7 a.m. to approximately 7 p.m.

Once barricades are removed, cars may re-enter the street.

No yard watering is allowed within 24 hours of a road closure.

Trash and mail service will run as scheduled.

Work cancellations due to weather will be rescheduled. Residents will be notified of the new work date about two to three days ahead of time.

If a vehicle is left parked on streets under construction, the vehicle will be towed at the owner’s expense.

Driving on a barricaded road, or watering along that road, may result in a fine of $750 or more.

Upcoming work schedules will be included in the next two issues of the Anvil Herald.
